YORKTON, SK — A familiar face is back for 2026-27.
Warren Shymko has returned to the Yorkton U18 AAA Kinsmen Maulers Hockey Club, moving into a new role with the team. His role will not just consist as Goalie Coach — the title he’s held for the last two seasons — but has now been also expanded to Assistant Coach.
Shymko is originally from Calder, SK, and has experience playing in the WHL, the SJHL and the CIS. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the club, and the Kinsmen Maulers are proud to bring Shymko back.
Shymko’s playing career included stops between the pipes for the SJHL’s Yorkton Terriers and Kindersley Klippers, along with a CIS career with the University of Ottawa and the University of Lethbridge. Shymko has also played locally across senior hockey in the region with the Esterhazy Flyers, Theodore Buffalos and Langenburg Warriors.
The 2026-27 Kinsmen Maulers season begins on Sept. 25 when the Swift Current Legionnaires come to the Westland Insurance Arena.
